Arrive in Istanbul and connect to a domestic flight to Trabzon. Meet the English-speaking guide and transfer to the hotel. Meals: No meals. Overnight: Trabzon.

Visit Trabzon’s Hagia Sophia, then discover Uzungöl’s lake and green mountain scenery with time for walking and photographs. Meals: Breakfast, dinner. Overnight: Trabzon.

Day 3: Trabzon – Hamsiköy – Kemaliye
Explore Sümela Monastery, Hamsiköy, the Zigana route and Karaca Cave before the long drive to Kemaliye. Meals: Breakfast, dinner. Overnight: Kemaliye.

Day 4: Kemaliye – İliç – Erzurum
Transfer to İliç for a standard-seat Eastern Express journey, subject to availability. Travel through Anatolian valleys to Erzurum and transfer to the hotel. Meals: Breakfast, dinner. Overnight: Erzurum.

Stop at the historic Twin Bridges on the Artvin route. Discover Şavşat Karagöl Nature Park’s forest and lake scenery and local village life. Meals: Breakfast, dinner. Overnight: Şavşat.

Stop at Lake Çıldır, visit Boğatepe Cheese Museum and enjoy views from Kars Castle. Seasonal lake activities depend on conditions. Meals: Breakfast, dinner. Overnight: Kars.

Visit Kars Fethiye Mosque and Ani’s ruined churches. Enjoy views of Mount Ararat and the museum/visitor centre devoted to Noah’s Ark traditions before Doğubayazıt. Meals: Breakfast, dinner. Overnight: Doğubayazıt.

Visit Ishak Pasha Palace and Ahmed-i Hani Mausoleum. Stop at Muradiye Falls and Lake Van; visits to Van Citadel, Hoşap and Çavuştepe are arranged according to road conditions and timing. Meals: Breakfast, dinner. Overnight: Van.

Visit the House of Van Cats and Cumhuriyet Street as flight times permit. Transfer to the airport for the return journey via Istanbul. Meals: Breakfast.
